Petition : Free Tayseer Allouni!

To: the Spanish Government and Judge Baltasar Garzon

Tayseer Allouni, one of the most prominent AlJazeera journalists was re-arrested in November 2004 by the Spanish authorities. Tayseer, a Spanish citizen, was originally arrested in September 2003 but was released a month later on bail due to a heart condition.

We believe that Tayseer Allouni�s arrest for links to Al-Qaeda is unwarranted and is part of a broader campaign to discredit free speech and free media organizations like AlJazeera in the Middle-East.

Tayseer's journalistic credentials are impeccable. He has always been on the front-line and has lived up to the highest professional standards. His arrest is a blow not only to AlJazeera, but to a free media in the Middle-East.

We call on you to free Tayseer Allouni immediately.
